Malleeswara Vidyanikethan Silver Jubilee Celebrations

The school entered 25th year of glorious existence in 2016-17. This institution was started in 1991 by Sri Perumal, a government servant working in the Irrigation department in Attappady. It was called Malleeswara L.P. School and gave education to about 50 students every year up to 4th standard. It was run in a rented old house in Nellipathi, about 2 km from Agali. Later on he handed the school over to Sevabharathi.

The land for the school was purchased in 1998 and construction of new building completed in 2000.Since then hundreds of students have passed out of the school with flying colours. In order to provide better facilities and improve academic standards, the school administration was taken over by Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission trust in 2010. Now the school has classes up to 8th standard in English medium.

Elaborate programmes and events have been planned in connection with the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the school. The celebrations were inaugurated by Justice Chettur Sankaran Nair on 20th February 2016 . The function was presided by Adv.N.Shamsudeen, Mannarkad MLA. Felicitations were offered by Dr.T.A.Sundar Menon and Sri Anoop Sankar (Playback Singer).

A Theatre workshop for school students was held on 9th & 10th April 2016. 38 students participated. The workshop was conducted by Sri Shajikumar and Kuppusamy.

On 21st June 2016, International Yoga Day was observed by the school by conducting yoga demonstrations and classes in 5 other schools in Attappady. The demonstrations were led by teachers and students of Malleeswara Vidyanikethan school.

A workshop on arts and painting was held on 9th and 10th July 2016.Senior artists like Sri Velayudhan, Sri K.G.Babu and Sri Jayaprakash interacted with the students regarding nuances of sketching and painting. The workshop was attended by 60 students.

Other events planned in connection with the 25th year celebrations are a Science Fair for school students, a Children’s Book Festival, Sangeetha Aradhana during Navarathri festival and Satsangam for children and parents.

The celebrations will conclude on 12th January 2017 on Vivekananda Jayanthi.
